WHAT DOES NATURE FOR KIDS DO?
Nature for Kids makes films under their own management with local actors and co-performers. The films are produced in such a manner that they are easily understandable in most linguistic areas. This is done by dictating in commentary style in a variety of languages. The topics and themes also vary and are relevant to their specific region or district.
The project for Nature for Kids started with a test case in Botswana. When that proved to be successful it was followed by a project in the North of Tanzania (Arusha and Manyara). This was completed in 2007 and was most positively evaluated.
The second phase of this program commenced in the summer of 2008. In 2007 Nature for Kids expanded it’s terrain to refugee camps in West Tanzania and Kenya, also areas around the Masaai Mara in Kenya.
At the end of 2008 another project commenced in Uganda. There we started to work in the Budongo Forest (Masindi District) and the Kalinzu Forest in the Bushenyi District.
